First order derivative of the equation representing the curve gives the slope at a point

y=x+4x2=x+4x-2

Differentiating with respect to x we get

dydx=1+-24x-3

dydx=1-8x3

dydx=m=1-8x3

The tangent is parallel to the x-axis.

1-8x3=0

x3=8

y=2+422
