$(x - 2) (x + 1) = (x - 1) (x + 3)$

$x^{2} + x - 2 x - 2 = x^{2} + 3 x - x - 3$

$x^{2} + x - 2 x - 2 - x^{2} - 3 x + x + 3 = 0$

$- 3 x + 1 = 0$
