Let the equivalent capacitance of 1st branch be Ceq.

Since the capacitors are in parallel combination,

So, Ceq=1+1=2 μF

Equivalent capacitance of 1st branch = Equivalent capacitance of 3rd branch =2μF.

Now circuit becomes


Applying the formula for capacitors in series,

1Ceq=1Ceq+1C2+1Ceq=12+11+12=2
