The equivalent resistance between A and B in given circuit can be found as follows. When we find the effective resistance across AB, the resistances across DF and HC are irrelevant as no current flows through them. The resulting circuit is as shown in Figure.

The resistances across GF and FE and those across. GH and HE are in series.

The resulting network is as shown in (ii).

The effective resistance across AB is

RAB=2Ω+(10Ω)(15Ω)10Ω+15Ω+ΩRAB=2Ω+6Ω+4Ω=12Ω
