The given reaction is,
3Cu+8HNO33Cu(NO3)2+2NO+4H2O
8 moles of HNO3 gives- 6moles of NO3 and 2 moles of NO
So, HNO3NO the oxidation number of N changes from +5 to +2.
NO3+3eNO(+5 to +2)
For 2 moles of NO. 6 elctrons are there.
But moles of HNO3 =8
So equivalent weight=Molar MassNo. of e×8
Equivalent weight=63×86=84
