If the relation is v=gaRb

The dimensions of the LHS and RHS have to be the same.

By plugging in the dimensional formulas of the respective variables in the equation we can get the values of aand b

Step 3: Derive the Dimensions

DImensional formula of v is M0L1T-1

Dimensional formula of g is M0L1T-2

Dimensional formula of R is M0L1T0

M0L1T-1=[M0L1T-2]a[M0L1T0]b

M0L1T-1=M0La+bT-2a

Step 4: Solving for aandb

a+b=1&-2a=-1

a=12

b=12

Thus, the value of both a and b is 12and v=CgR where C is some constant that can be calculated experimentally.
