Solution

The correct option is D

8x(x − y) (2x2 + y2 − 2xy)

(2x − y) 4 − y4

= {(2x − y) 2}2 − (y2)2

= [(2x − y) 2 + y2] [(2x − y) 2 −y2] [a2 − b2 = (a + b) (a − b)]

= [4x2 + y2 − 4xy + y2] [(2x − y) + y] [(2x − y) − y]

= (4x2 + 2y2 − 4xy) (2x) (2x − 2y)

= 2 (2x2 + y2 − 2xy) × 2x × 2(x − y)

= 8x(x − y) (2x2 + y2 − 2xy)
