Solution

The correct option is C

10gm

Step 1: Given data

External dimensions of wooden box,

l1=18cmb1=10cmh1=6cm

The thickness of the wood=5mm=510=0.5cm

Weight of one empty box=3.15kg

Weight of 1c.c.wood=?

Volume of cuboid=l×b×h

Step 3: Calculating the weight of 1c.c.wood

Internal dimensions of the wooden box will be given as,

Externaldimensions-2×thickness

Thus, the Internal dimensions of the wooden box,

l2=18-2×0.5=18-1=17cmb2=10-1=9cmh2=6-1=5cm

The volume of wood is given as,

External volume-Internal volume

=18×10×6-17×9×5=1080-765=315c.c.

The volume of wood is equal to the volume of one empty box.

Thus,

315c.c.=3.15kg=3.15×1000g1c.c.=3150315=10g

Hence, the weight of 1c.c. of wood is 10g
