In equilibrium position of spring ,
weight of mass =restoring force of spring
as both the systems are in equilibrium therefore ,
for blue mass system ,
mBg=kxB
or mB=kxB/g ................................eq1
for red mass system ,
mRg=kxR
or mR=kxR/g ,
but given xR=2xB ,
so mR=k×2xB/g ..................................eq2
dividing eq2 by eq1 ,
mR/mB=2
or mR=2mB
