(i) The above-given figure is a sectional view of an ear.
(ii) The parts labeled are:
m shows malleus
i shows incus
These three collections are known as ear ossicles.
(iii) The part shown in form of a spiral is cochlea. The cochlea is the innermost part of the inner ear, cochlea translates sound into a nerve impulse that is sent to the brain via the auditory nerve.
(iv) The labeled part 'tm' is a tympanic membrane also called as the eardrum. It is thin layer tissue which receives sound vibrations from the outer air and transmits them to the ear ossicles in the process of hearing.
