From the figure,
θ1>θ3>θ2
Applying snells law at P1 and P2,
μ1sin(θ1)=μ2sin(θ2) ………(i)
μ2sin(θ2)=μ3sin(θ3) …….(ii)
From (i) and (ii)
μ1sin(θ1)=μ2sin(θ2)=μ3sin(θ3)=k …….(iii)
As θ1>θ3>θ2
sin(θ1)>sin(θ3)>sin(θ2)
From (iii),
μ1=ksinθ1,μ2=ksinθ2,μ3=ksin(θ3)
So,
As sin(θ1)>sin(θ3)>sin(θ2),
μ1<μ3<μ2.
