When the weight of the test tube (A and B) is taken before and after the experiment, what is observed?
Give reasons to justify your observation in A and B.

Solution

Before - Weights of A and B are the same.
After - 'A' becomes lighter as it loses water due to transpiration, no change in 'B' as there is no loss of water due to evaporation as the surface of water is covered with oil.
