Total Distance, $= 20 m$
Total Time Taken, $= 20 s e c$
$A v e r a g e S p e e d = \frac{T o t a l D i s t a n c e}{T o t a l T i m e T a k e n} = \frac{20 m}{20 s e c} = 1 m s^{- 1}$

Maximum speed:
From figure it is clear that maximum distance, $= 20 m$
Time taken to achieve the maximum distance, between $t = 10 s e c$ to $t = 18 s e c$
And distance covered at this time, $20 m - 4 m = 16 m$
