The correct option is B x=5 cos ωt
Let x be the position of particle from mean position
x=A sin (ωt+ϕ)
Since, the particle starts from point P and amplitude A=5
x=5 sin (ωt+ϕ)(1)
5=5 sin(ω(0)+ϕ)
(x=5 at t=0)
sin ϕ=1
ϕ=3π2
from equation (1) we get
x=5 cos ωt
Hence, option (b) is correct.
