The correct option is C
In the first step, acetylation of amine group takes place. This step is also called protection of NH2 group because NH2 is highly activating for elctrophilic aromatic substitution and all the ortho/para(three) positions are substituted by coming electrophile. But after acetylation, its lone pair is not so much involved with the benzene ring and hence activating nature of NH2decreases and only monosubstituted product is formed in the second step. In the third step, deprotection takes place and NH2 group is regenerated.
