The first chamber of the heart that receives blood in the cardiac cycle is known as:
Atrium
Atria (singular: atrium) receives the blood from the lungs as well as from the rest of the body. From there blood is passed to ventricles via valves. Blood enters the heart through two large veins, the inferior and superior vena cava, emptying oxygen-poor blood from the body into the right atrium. As the atrium contracts, blood flows from our right atrium into our right ventricle through the open tricuspid valve.
