The first line of defence in our body is formed by?

Open in App
Solution

Answer:

The protective mechanical/physical barriers forms the first line of defence in our body.

That is, the skin and the mucous membrane linings of the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and genitourinary tracts provide the first line of defense against invasion by microbes or parasites.

The skin forms the outer, tough layer of the body and is impenetrable to germs.

Hair, like those present in nostrils and eyelashes, trap dust particles and prevent their entry.

The mucus secreted in nasal passage and windpipe trap germs like bacteria and prevent their entry inside. Cilia of the windpipe then remove the trapped bacteria.
