Developing friendly relations among nations, to cooperate in solving international problems and to be a centre for harmonising the actions of nations are the other key functions of the UNSC. It has 15 members in all with 5 permanent members with veto powers and 10 non-permanent members. The five permanent members are China, France, Russian Federation, the United Kingdom and the United States.
