The floor of a room $10 m \times 6 m$ .
Step I: Find area of floor.
So, the area of the floor $=$ $10 m \times 6 m$ $[A r e a = l e n g t h \times b r e a d t h]$
$= 60 m^{2}$
Step II: Find length of the carpet.
The floor is to be covered with carpet $1 m$ wide.
Total length of the carpet required $=$ $\frac{a r e a o f c a r p e t}{w i d t h}$
Area of carpet $=$ area of the floor
So, length of carpet $=$ $\frac{60}{1} = 60 m$ .
Step III: Find the cost of the carpet.
The cost of carpet for $1$ metre $=$ $₹ 45$ .
So, cost of carpet for $60 m$ $=$ $60 \times 45$
$= ₹ 2700$ .
Therefore, the length of the carpet is $60 m$ and the cost of the carpet is $₹ 2700$ .
