The floor of a room with dimensions $5$m and $3$m is to be covered with square tiles . If each square tiles is of side $25$cm.find the number of tiles required.

Sides of the floor $=5$m and $3$m

Length$=500$cm and Breadth$300$cm [ $1$m $=100$cm]

Area of the floor $=lb=500\times 300=150000{cm}^2$.

Square tile : Side $=25$cm

$\therefore$ Area of a tile $=25\times 25=625{cm}^2$

$\therefore$ No. of tiles required $=$ Area of the floor $÷$ Area of a tile $=150000÷625=240$.

$\therefore 240$ square tiles are required to cover the room.
