Solution

The correct option is C 2-3-1
A long war took place from 1775 to 1782 between the Marathas and the British. Initially, the Marathas gained the upper hand, and defeated the British at Wadgaon in 1779. However, the Marathas were unable to sustain the war, and signed the Treaty of Salbai in 1782 to end the First Anglo-Maratha War. The Treaty of Bassein was a pact signed in 1802 between the British East India Company and Peshwas. It insisted on the subsidiary alliance, and since some Maratha families did not accept it, it aggravated into the Second Anglo-Maratha War.
