Solution

Marks obtained by the students = 12, 4, 6 , (-1), (-3 )

Marks arranged in ascending order = (-3) , (-1), 4, 6, 12

So, the difference between the highest scorer and the lowest scorer=12-(-3)=12+3=15.
Hence, the difference between the highest scorer and the lowest scorer is 15.
