The following diagram in figure shows a coil of several turns of copper wire near a magnet NS. The coil is moved in the direction of arrow show in the diagram. How would the current in coil be altered if the coil was made to move three times as fast?

Solution

Amount of current flowing in the coil is directly proportional to the rate of change of magnetic field with the coil. When the coil moves three times faster, rate of change of magnetic field linked with the coil becomes 3 times its initial value. So, the current becomes 3 times its initial value.
