Solution

Step 1: Find the mode of the given data.

The modal class is 30-35; l=30, and the frequencies arefm=10,f1=9,f2=3andh=5

The formula to find the mode is

Mode=l+(fm-f1)(2fm-f1-f2)×h

=30+(10-9)(20-9-3)×5=30+58=30+0.625=30.625

Therefore, the mode of the given data is 30.625

Step 2: Find the mean of the given data.

Find the class mark using the formula, xi=(upperlimit+lowerlimit)2

The formula to calculate the mean,

Mean =x̄=fixifi

=1022.535=29.2

Hence, the mean of the given data is 29.2
