The following graph shows the percentage change in the revenue of a company, during a period of 15 years, i.e., from the year 2005 to the year 2019.
From the year 2007 onwards, the company donated 10% of its revenue to charity whenever its revenue exceeded 125% of its revenue in the year 2007. Find the total amount donated to the charity, if revenue of the company in 2011 was Rs. 100 million.
Let the revenue of the company in the year 2004 be Rs. 100x.
So, revenue of the company in the year 2005 will be = 100x + 100x × 25% = 125x
Similarly, we can find the revenue of the company for all the remaining years.
From the table, revenue of the company in the year 2007 = 100x
So, in the years when the revenue of the company is greater than 125x, the company will donate 10% to the charity.
Total amount donated to charity = 20x + 25x + 20x + 25x + 12.6x = 102.6x
Given, the revenue of the company in 2011 was 100 million, thus, x = 12 million
Required answer = 102.6x = 51.3 million
Hence, option D is correct.
