Suji/Rawa = 250 g, Sugar = 300 g

Ghee = 200 g, Water = 500 mL.

Using the concept of proportion, estimate the changes in the quantity of ingredients, to prepare halwa for 60 members. [4 MARKS]

Solution: 1 Mark each

Using the direct proportion condition,

$\frac{Ravaquantity}{Persons}=\frac{250}{5}=\frac{n}{60}$

n = Quantity of rava required. = 3 kg

Similarly,

Quantity of sugar required
$=60\times \frac{300}{5}=3.6kg$

Quantity of ghee required
$=60\times \frac{200}{5}=2.4kg$

Quantity of water required
$=60\times \frac{500}{5}=6litres$.
