Solution

a) Figure 'g' represents the degenerating corpus luteum. Hormone LH from pituitary stimulates its formation.
b) Corpus luteum is responsible for the secretion of the hormone progesterone. Progesterone is essential for maintaining the thickening of the wall of the uterus which is required for the implantation of the fertilized ovum and also throughout the pregnancy.
c) Figure 'd' represents developing secondary follicle while figure 'e' represents mature tertiary follicle.
d) The figure given above shows the labelled sketch of Graafian follicle.
