(a) The electrode formed by the article which is to be plated is the cathode.

(b) As the article needs to be electroplated with silver, silver ions should be present in the electrolyte.

(c) The anode used in electroplating should be active in nature.
The active anode gets involved in the electrode reaction and gets itself plated on the article (cathode). In this reaction, silver metal is the active anode.
