Solution

Mean=fixifi
=14(2)+21(3)+28(4)+20(5)+17(6)100
=28+63+112+100+102100
=4051004
Therefore, mean of given data is approximately 4 branches.

Since plants with 4 branches are highest in number which is highest frequency of all the items, the modal number of branches will be 4.
Mode =4

For a given data,
Relation between mean, mode and median is given by :
mode=3×median2×mean
4=3×median2×4
median=4.

Therefore, for the given data, mean=median = mode =4.
