If one person is selected at random, find the probability that the selected person is male

Total number of people in the given locality = 12 + 16+ 4 + 8 + 14 + 6

= 60

Number of males = 12 + 16+ 4

= 32

$\text{Probability that selected person is male}=\frac{\text{Number of favourable outcomes}}{\text{Total number of possible outcomes}}$

$=\frac{\text{Number of males}}{\text{Total number of people in the given locality}}$

= $\frac{32}{60}$

= $\frac{8}{15}$
