Total number of people in the given locality = 12 + 16+ 4 + 8 + 14 + 6

= 60

Number of females = 8 + 14+ 6

= 28

$\text{Probability of the person selected is female}=\frac{\text{Number of favourable outcomes}}{\text{Total number of possible outcomes}}$

$=\frac{\text{Number of females}}{\text{Total number of people in the given locality}}$

= $\frac{28}{60}$

= $\frac{7}{15}$
