Triangle ABC, as shown in [I] is rotated through 90 in anti-clockwise direction to get [II]. Note that this rotation changes neither the size nor the shape of triangle ABC. i.e. all the angles and the lengths of sides of triangle ABC remain the same. Now, image [II] is reflected through a vertical mirror to get [III]. Also this reflection does not affect the shape and size of image [II].

We know that two polygons are congruent if they are of the same size and shape - that is, if their corresponding angles and sides are equal.

Hence images [I] and [II] are congruent to each other.

Therefore the given statement is false.
