Question

The force between two electrons when placed in air is equal to 0.5 times the weight of an electron. Find the distance between two electrons (mass of electron =9.1×1031kg)

Open in App
Solution

Electrostatic force Fe=ke2r2
Weight of electron W=mg
So, Fe=0.5W
Or ke2r2=0.5mg
Or 9×109(1.6×1019)2r2=0.5×9.1×1031×10
r=7.2 m
