Solution

The correct option is B False

Force of gravitation:

  1. The universal law of Gravitation - According to the law of Gravitation, every particle in the universe attracts every other particle with a force which is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.
  2. Mathematically, the law can be written as F=GM1M2R2 where G is the gravitational constant, R is a distance between two point masses and M1,2 is the mass of two point masses.
  3. Unlike the charges, there are no like or unlike combinations of masses. The mass is always positive and two-point masses always attract each other.
  4. Hence, from the above statement, it is clear that the force of gravitation is always attractive in nature.

Therefore, the given statement is false.
