The formation of cyst to tide over unfavourable conditions is called
Under unfavourable conditions amoeba withdraws its pseudopodia and secretes a three layered cyst around it, through a process called ‘encystation’.
It can remain in this dormant state and can get dispersed. On finding favourable conditions again, the amoeba divides into minute amoebae called ‘pseudopodiospores’ through multiple fission. Each pseudopodiospore can grow into a new amoeba.
