Solution

The correct option is C 1-B; 2-D; 3-A; 4-C
Rigveda is the oldest Veda. The hymns were written in praise of various gods and also were intended to be used for invoking the deities and seeking their support. Samaveda is the Veda of chants. It was a guide for the priests who used to sing the hymns while performing the yajnas. Yajurveda is a separate veda describing the rituals to be observed while performing the yajnas. Atharvaveda mentions various hymns dealing with charms and spells to subjugate the evil spirits and also control diseases.
