We know that the formula to calculate fractions is

Fraction= Part of the wholeTotal number of parts in the whole

The wall can be divided into 25 equal parts as you can see above. The number of parts painted blue, red, green, white and yellow are 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, respectively.

So, we need to calculate the fractional values of all the colours on the wall and then we need to pick the value that is the smallest among them.

The fraction of blue colour used is
= 325
The fraction of red colour used is
= 425
The fraction of green colour used is
= 525 = 15
The fraction of white colour used is
= 625
The fraction of yellow colour used is
= 725

Comparing all the fraction we see that blue colour occupies the smallest area with a fractional value of 325.
