Question

The frequency of a sound wave is 20Hz. Find its time period. If the velocity of sound in air is 330 m/s, find its wavelength.

Open in App
Solution

Frequency = 20 Hz
We know that,
frequency=1time period
time period=1frequency
time period =120
time period = 0.05 seconds
Velocity = frequency × wavelength
330=20× wavelength
wavelength = 33020
wavelength = 16.5 m
So, the wavelength is 16.5 metres.
