Solution

Let the frequency of vibrating guitar string be f when the length of a string is l m

Given: l=0.65 m,f=4 times per second.

From the question, we know that f 1l
f=kl
4=k0.65
k=4×0.65=2.6
f=2.6l

when l=0.5 m

f=2.60.5=5.2 times per second
