Fundamental Duties are moral obligations on the citizens of the country. They are non-enforceable in nature but should be fulfilled at own's will. As of now, there are 11 fundamental duties in Part IV(A) of the Indian Constitution. They help promote a spirit of patriotism and to uphold the unity of India. They obligate all citizens to respect the national symbols of India, including the Constitution, to cherish its heritage, preserve its composite culture, promote the spirit of common brotherhood, protect the environment and public property, develop scientific temper, abjure violence, and strive towards excellence in all spheres of life.
