Solution

The correct option is C 55.55 Hz
Fundamental frequency of sonometer is given by
F0=12lTμ
When the tension increased by 21%
F0+5=12l1.21Tμ=1.1 F0
F0+5=1.1 F0
F0=50.1=50 Hz
When the length of wire decreased by 10%
Now, F=12×0.9lTμ
F=10.9F0=109×50=5009
= 55.55 Hz.
