Solution

Baking soda, commonly known as sodium hydrogen carbonate, is a white crystalline substance. In water, it is just slightly soluble. Vinegar, which is commonly known as acetic acid, is a kind of acid.

  • When baking soda (NaHCO3) reacts with vinegar (CH3COOH) it released carbon dioxide(CO2).
  • The chemical equation is as follows:

NaHCO3(g)Bakingsoda+CH3COOH(l)VinegarCO2(g)Carbondioxide+H2O(l)Water+CH3COO-(aq)+Na+(aq)

So, Carbon dioxide gas is released by mixing baking soda with vinegar.
