Solution

Dear Student,

1. The colour of the flower that is expected in the F1 progeny after the cross between plants bearing violet flowers (VV) and the plant bearing white flower (vv) is Vv(violet).

2. When F1 plants are self pollinated, the percentage of plant bearing violet flower would be 75%.

3. The ratio can be obtained by carrying out the selfing of the F1 generation.
♂ /♀ V v
V VV Vv
v Vv vv

As can be seen from the cross VV:Vv ratio is 1:2.
