Solution

All the sides are equal in a cube.
So, its length, width and height will be 8 cm each.
Its Volume = 8 x 8 x 8 = 512 cu. cm

Side of the small cube = 1 cm
Volume of the small cube = 1 x 1 x 1
= 1 cu. cm
So, the number of small cubes used to make the given cube
= 512 ÷ 1 = 512
