Total volume of the solid = 1519.0476 cm3


Diameter = 10 cm

Therefore, radius (r) = 5 cm

Height of the cone (h) = 12 cm

Height of the cylinder = 12 cm

l = h2+r2 = 122+52 = 144+25 = 169 = 13 cm

(i) Total surface area of the solid

= πrl + 2πrh + 2πr2

= π(l + 2h + 2r)

= 227×5[13 + (2×12) + 2×5]

= 1107[13+24+10]

= 1107×47

= 51707

= 738.57 cm2

(ii) Total volume of the solid

= 13πr2h + πr2h + 23πr3

= πr2[13h+h+23r]

= 227×5×5[13×12+12+23×5]

= 5507[4+12+103]

= 5507×583

= 3190021

= 1519.0476 cm3
