The process of replication or copying of DNA involves the action of a DNA Polymerase enzyme that uses a DNA template for the synthesis of another complimentary DNA strand synthesis. So, this is a DNA dependent DNA polymerase. The process of transcription of the DNA code to form RNA involves another enzyme called RNA polymerase which uses DNA as a template to synthesize RNA and hence is a DNA dependent RNA polymerase. The process of formation of DNA from RNA is rare and is called reverse transcription ans is catalyzed by the enzyme Reverse transcriptase that uses RNA as the template to synthesize DNA and hence is a RNA dependent DNA polymerase.
