The correct option is D Both the statements 1 and 2 together are sufficient. Both statements will be required as capacity is required and what portion of capacity is filled is also required.
From (ii) we get full capacity of tank A = 14000
So capacity of B is 20000 =(140007)
But for getting quality of solution we also need how much it is full.
Statement I gives A is 80% full and B is 40% full.
i.e. Vol. in A occupied = 80% of 14000
= 11,200
Vol. in B occupied = 40% of 20000
= 8000
Hence both statements will be required for finding out gallons of solution in A and B respectively.
