Let given numbers arranged in the descending order.
Since positive value is always greater than the negative value.
So, 12 would be the first element in the arrangement.
Now consider , the negative fractions 45 and 78
Before we compare them, lets make their denominators equal as
45×88=3240 and 78×55=3540
Since 32>35
Dividing 40 on both sides of inequality
3240>3540
45>78
The descending order is 12>45>78

Also, the ascending order is 78<45<12
So, middle number is 45.
