From table consider any two points, say (6,25) and (15,52).

Slope (m)=Change in yChange in x=52 2515 6=3

Equation for point slope form is
yy1=m(xx1)

At point (6,25), we get:
y25=3(x6)

y25=3x18
(using distributive property)

y=3x+7

To find the number of plants at the ground level, we have to put x = 0 in the eqaution.

By putting x = 0, we get:

y=3x+7
y=3(0)+7
y=7

So, the value of y-intercept = 7

∴ The number of flowering plants at ground level is 7.
