The following are the some of the measures to control air pollution: [1 mark for each point]
(i) Installation of electrostatic precipitator in thermal power plant to remove particulate matter.
(ii) Proper maintenance of automobiles like the fitting of catalytic converters to all vehicles for reducing emission of poisonous gases.
(iii) Ugradation of all vehicle engines to CNG instead of diesel or petrol.
(iv) Reducing the use of fire crackers and loud speakers during festivals.
(v) Introduction of odd-even system to reduce number of vehicles and encourage the use of public transport.
